Yasmin F. Karimi
Yasmin has a B.A. from NYU and a J.D. from Vanderbilt Law School. In 2023, she left Netflix and founded her own practice, 232 Legal.
With over a decade of experience in the entertainment industry, Yasmin has specialized in guiding artists and producers throughout the development and production of their films, television and documentary projects. She now primarily focuses on digital content creators, acting as a strategic partner in helping creators protect their intellectual property and develop their brands.
Yasmin began her career at the law firm Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP in their Entertainment, Technology & Advertising division before joining Levity Live where she ran Business & Legal Affairs, working on unscripted programming, managing legal operations of the IMPROV and Levity Live comedy clubs and guiding the company’s comedy management team. She joined IMAGINE Entertainment as their first in-house counsel before joining Netflix’s Original Films group.
Understanding the need for full-service strategic legal services in the new creator-first digital ecosystem, Yasmin left Netflix’s Film group and founded 232 Legal. She is an Adjunct Professor of Entertainment Law at Boston University’s Los Angeles campus. She attended Vanderbilt Law School and New York University, and is licensed to practice law in the State of California. She lives in Los Angeles, CA and Brooklyn, NY.
